Wilborn B. Wallace (Moe & PaPa Moe), 90, husband of Margaret Kirby Wallace for 40 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Mr. Wallace was born in Piedmont to the late Jesse Lewis Wallace, Sr. and Margie Ree Moore Wallace. He retired in 1991 after 31 years of service as a general supervisor for Armstrong World Industries. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as a hospital registrar and surgery assistant with the Goosebay Labador 1227th Air Base Group. He was a paratrooper assigned to the Plans Room with the 11th Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. He also served in the supreme headquarters under the Allied Forces in Central Europe in Fontainebleau, France and with the 4th Division headquarters special troops and the boxing team. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Dr. Lynn (Connie) Wallace, and Dean (Scott) Wallace; a daughter, Lisa (Eddie) Rousey; three stepsons, David Tinsley, Dwayne Tinsley, and Darrell (Pam) Tinsley; two brothers, Bradley (Louise) Wallace and Billy (Faye) Wallace; a granddaughter, Victoria; twelve step-grandchildren and eighteen step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Wallace Jr.; two sisters, Delphine Hope and Bernice Ledford; and his beloved chihuahua Gizmo. A Celebration of Moe’s Life will be held at 10 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
