Obituary of Thomas Wesley Wallace

Thomas “Tommy” Wesley Wallace, 90, husband of Gladys Louise Richardson Wallace for 71 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
Mr. Wallace was born in Marion County to the late Robert Archie Wallace and Louise Bailey Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. While married with two children, he then used his GI Bill to finish high school. He was a member of the Church of God. Tommy was faithful, serving as a deacon, choir leader, Sunday school teach and many other positions within the Church of God. At home, he was a farmer and owned a small filling station in Marion. Later, he became a Founding Share Holder of UPS. Tommy enjoyed horseback riding, hunting and fishing. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family and his church family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Gladys, are a son, Thomas “Tom” Wallace II and wife Terrie; two daughters, Jewell Wallace Hammons and husband David, and Jenny Massey; brother Robert “Bobby” Wallace; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Dooley, Christopher Dooley, Kristi Vicars and husband John, Jessica Hutto and husband Leon, Heather Hammons, Andrea Bentley and husband Rand, Andrew Wallace and wife Ciara and Mary Hannah Wallace; four great-grandchildren, JT Hutto, Hayden Bentley, Jaxon Vicars, Cameron Bentley and Jett Vicars. He was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel Wallace and Mary Moore; and a sister-in-law, Janice Wallace.
Funeral services will be 2 o’clock Wednesday at Marion Church of God officiated by his son, Rev. Thomas “Tom” Wallace II and Rev. David Hammons. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial with military honors will follow at Devotion Gardens, Mullins, SC.
