Everywhere Eddy went he left a lasting impression and not just in bar stools. He had more funny stories to tell about life that would make you laugh so hard you would cry. His friends, and they are a plenty, had even more stories about him that would do the same. Just thinking about Eddy would make you smile.
Travelling to the Carolinas will never be the same again.

To the family and friends of the Ellis’,
Please accept my sincerest condolences.
I had the pleasure of working with Eddy while at Freud for ~10yrs; he was a legend in our industry. Another person said it best, ”I have a million Eddy stories to tell…and some I can even tell in public.” Rest In Peace.

I worked with Eddie for over 10 years at Freud America. He was an amazing guy - so funny, so sharp, and able to connect with people instantly. If you met him once it felt like you knew him forever. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Ellis Family,
We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Eddy. Eddy was always the "life of the party" at all Klingspor's Woodworking Shop events and when he would stop in to say hi in our Hickory offices, he filled the halls with laughter and stories. He will be sorely missed.
On a personal level, I considered Eddy a friend. Many a nights we would have dinner in one of the towns that our stores were located and he always made me smile. He, even after retirement, called a couple of times a month to catch up and say hello. He was an awesome man and he will be missed.
Coleman Fourshee and the Klingspor's Woodworking Shop family.

During our growing up years in Simpsonville, I don’t know of anyone who caused me to laugh more often or got me into more trouble than you, Eddy. Something was always “up” with you, and the rest of us loved that about you. It was great seeing you at our last Hillcrest Class of 1972 reunion, and I don’t think anyone had more stories shared about them that evening than you. You touched us all, and there’s a lot of sadness in knowing that you’re no longer with us here. But the memories are; and we’re grateful! God bless you, friend. “Jimmy” Thomason
