Obituary of Stephen Douglas Bishop

Stephen Douglas Bishop, 68, husband of 39 years to Teddy Bishop, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at his home. Mr. Bishop was born in Greenville, SC to the late Nettie Lee Bishop. He was a veteran of the US Army and an employee of Wright Metals. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and building RC models. He was also an avid reader. Stephen loved being Papa Steve to his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife Teddy are a daughter, Melissa McFarland (Joe); grandchildren, William Trksak II (Heather), Shane McFarland Jr. (Cheyenne), Gabriel McFarland; and great-grandchildren, Trey Trksak III, Shane McFarland III, Amanda Trksak, Madelynn McFarland; his two aunts, whom he referred to often as sisters, JoAnn Powell and Cathy Dunn and husband Tom; and his sister-in-law, Geri Samstag. A Celebration of Life will be 6 o’clock Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
