Obituary of Johnny Dean Howard

Johnny Dean Howard, 66, husband of Sandra Crumpton Howard for 14 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Mr. Howard was born in Greer to the late Furman “Square” Kane Howard and Louise “Pumpy” Parris Howard. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was an alumnus of Spartanburg Methodist College and Limestone College. Johnny was employed for more than 30 years at Beverage Air. He recently retired from Southeastern Paper Group, Inc. Johnny enjoyed playing and coaching baseball in his earlier years. He was an avid Clemson football fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Jeff Howard and wife Marie; a daughter, Deana Melton; a stepson, Craig Crawford; a stepdaughter, Kelly Crawford; a brother, Scott Howard; six grandchildren, Hunter Haines and wife Kaitlin, Madison Clayton, Mackenzie Melton, Harrison Estes, Hensley Howard, and Jackson Howard; and a great-grandson, Beckett Haines. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Duane Melton. A Celebration of Johnny’s Life, with Military Honors, will be 2 o’clock Thursday at Lebanon United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. John Polk.
