Obituary of Robert L Land

Robert L. Land of Simpsonville, SC was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the 20th day of September, 2021. He was 67 years of age. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Mary Kay Land, their much-loved daughters Jennifer Land and Christina Cook along with son-in-law Scott Cook, and grandchildren Charlie and Lucy Cook. Bob was born in Olympia, WA in 1953 to James Robert Land and Betty Gene Hicks Land. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Rocky, Richard, and Rebecca. With only a high school education, Bob Land excelled as a heavy highway contractor. He partnered in Foothills Construction Company and held the position of president of Reeves Construction and R.B. Baker in Georgia and Sloan Construction in SC. In retirement, he started Land Consulting, LLC. Bob served in the Army National Guard and as deacon at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Moore, SC. He loved spending time with his sweet grandchildren. He was in the midst of a learn-as-you-go floor installation with Jennifer. Although “retirement” was filled with helping others, he did find time for flyfishing which he very much enjoyed. A Celebration of Life will be 11am Saturday at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Scott Cook. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be 10am Saturday at Graceland East Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
