Obituary of David Herbruck Geisler

David Herbruck Geisler, 83, beloved husband of Alice McCormick Geisler for 60 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2021. David was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Ferdinand Herbruck Geisler and Dorothy Schaeffer. He was an alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and a brother of Sigma Nu fraternity. After working for 20 years with E.I. DuPont deNemours & Co., he moved on to Exxon Enterprises, and later opened his own consulting firm. He dove back into the workforce as president and CEO of Nicca USA, Inc. and finally retired in 1992. During retirement, David provided consultation for SEC Equipment Corporation, Inc. until his death. David also stayed busy before and after retirement by volunteering with Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce where he served as the director and president. He was also the director of Fountain Inn Development Corporation. He worked as both director and treasurer of Concerned Citizens for Animals in Simpsonville, South Carolina. In between his varied activities, he and his wife, Alice, enjoyed traveling. They took trips to Europe, Alaska, South America, as well as the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, David McCormick and wife Melinda; a daughter Karen Johnson and husband John; seven grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Emily Johnson, Michael Geisler and wife Tia, Rebecca Hickey and husband Bradley, Daniel Geisler, Will Edwards, and James Edwards; as well as three great grandchildren, Jacob Geisler, Wilder Geisler, and Payton Geisler. A celebration of David’s life will be held on November 27, 2021, at 1:00 in the afternoon at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
