Obituary of Lawrence King

Reverend Wallace Lawrence King, 47, husband of Nacole Young King for 18 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Mr. King was born in Greenville to the late Reverend Wallace Lee King and Rebecca Watts King. His namesake was after Reverend Lawrence Leonhardt. Lawrence had the heart of a faithful servant. While attending Lee College in Cleveland, TN, the Lord used Lawrence to rescue several people trapped in the Ellis Hall fire. A survivor referred to him as his Angel on earth. He served as an associate pastor at Outland Church of God and later as pastor during the 2016 church plant of Covered Church. He also served as a youth pastor in Liberty. Currently Lawrence was a member of Take Heart Church. Lawrence was an avid fan of the USC Gamecocks and Atlanta Braves. He cherished Nacole and his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Samuel King; two daughters, Elizabeth King and Abigail King; two brothers, Carlton King and wife Ashley and Shawn King and wife Chelcie; two brothers-in-law, Scotty Young and wife Jennifer and Shane Young; five nephews, Joshua King, Phillip King, Nathan King, Dezin Green and Cooper Young; four nieces Brooklyn King, Natalie King, Cadence Young and Cassidy Young; and one great-niece, Ellie Rose King. A Celebration of Lawrence’s Life will be 4 o’clock Friday at Take Heart Church. The family will receive friends an hour prior.
