Obituary of William Harry Brownlee

William Harry Brownlee, 82, husband to Donna Ellen Shorter Brownlee for 49 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Mr. Brownlee was born September 14, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA to the late William Edwin Brownlee and Elizabeth Virginia Perch Brownlee. He was a retired US Army Sergeant and Veteran of foreign wars (1962-1977) with several medals and letters of commendation. He was a proud and patriotic man as well as an American Flag Historian. He enjoyed watching westerns, traveling, working on cars, taking long rides with his wife, walking, and watching football. He mostly loved spending time with his family above all else. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Maryann Brooks and husband Richard, Michele Meager and husband Aaron, and Suzanne Beasley and husband Jaki; one brother, Edward Brownlee; three sisters, Betty Mae Kern and husband Donald, Carol Farrell and husband Raymond, and Helen Pine and husband Dan; and several grandchildren; Richard Brooks III, Joseph William Brooks, Samantha Lanham, Edward Brownlee, Kathryn Northington, Christina Bailey, DiJuan C. Bailey, William A. Brownlee and Logan R. Beasley. 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by two sons, Edward S. Brownlee and William “Billy Boy” Brownlee. Anyone who knew him loved and respected him; he will truly be missed but live on forever in our hearts. Fathers hold their children’s hands for just a little while…And their hearts forever. ~ Unknown ~
