Obituary of Donnie Davenport

Donald Eugene “Donnie” Davenport, 58, husband of Laura Denise Cox Davenport for 40 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Mr. Davenport was born in Laurens to the late Tony Lamar Davenport and Brenda Joyce Staton Davenport. He enjoyed baseball and NASCAR. Donnie loved working on cars and achieved the Golden ASE Master Auto Technician designation for his vocation. His companion Lucy was always by his side – he will be missed. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Amanda Christopher; two brothers, Pete Davenport and Randy Davenport; two sisters, Tammy Davenport and Shirley Stipanovic; and a granddaughter, McKenzie Christopher. He was predeceased by a brother, Lamar Davenport. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be 3 o’clock Saturday, January 15th, at 1921 Hellams Road, hosted by his family.
