Obituary of Doris Jean Roberts Wood

Doris Roberts Wood, 87, widow of Walter “Dub” Wood, Jr, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Mrs. Wood was born in Laurens to the late Jessie Calvin Roberts and Lily Mae Robertson. She was a member of Dials United Methodist Church. Doris loved helping her husband Dub on the farm, fishing, cooking for her grandchildren and her cats, but her greatest enjoyment was being with her family. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving, are a daughter, Sherry Beck (James), four grandchildren, David Beck, Jennifer Godfrey (Jeffrey), Jess Wood (Katrina) and Niles Wood (Saija Butters); ten great-grandchildren, Trisha Beck, Duwayne Beck, Trinity Godfrey, Quentin Beck, Eli Wood, Shyann Wood, Shelby Godfrey, Chantz Wood, Walter Wood and William Wood and a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Wood. She was predeceased by a son, Jake Wood; two brothers, and four sisters. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be 2pm Monday at Dials United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
