Obituary of Junior Hamlett

Junior Hamlett, 92, husband of Betty Carter Hamlett for 36 years, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 2, 2022. Mr. Hamlett was born in Middlesboro, KY to the late Herman H. Hamlett and Eva Elliott Hamlett. He was a member of God's Covenant Church in NC. He retired from the City of Greenville after 25 years and served in the 11th Airborne and 7th Infantry. Junior was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving, in addition to his wife are, two sons, Allan Hamlett and John Hamlett; two step-sons, Lamar Page and Mike Page; three step-daughters, Karen Rogers (Steve), Vicki Acker (Steve) and Alice Hill; daughter-in-law, Linda Hamlett; brother-in-law, Randy Gosier; 4 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David Hamlett; a daughter, Donna Hamlett Gosier; two step-sons, Charles Habighorst and John Habighorst; and two sisters, Cleo Branham and Athea Johnson. Funeral Services will be 2pm Thursday in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service-Woodruff. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
