I wish i had more pictures of me and my uncle but he was so special to me, whether we were going to my aunt susie and uncle Scott’s house for dinner every Sunday or Christmas eve where we would go to their house and me and him would be the only one really excited to watch elf, hiking with my friends and going to the river near his house with lockey and now fergus, the conversations about soccer and learning spanish together, the dog park right near my house, the grateful dead, nothing will ever be the same. i don’t wanna say goodbye because this one means forever. i don’t wanna say goodbye and i don’t want this to be the end. i miss your dad jokes and your laugh and i hate the fact i’ll never be able to hear your voice anymore. i hate the fact that i can’t play soccer with you anymore and i hate the fact that i can’t gross you out with “girl stuff” and i hate the fact that you left so soon and you weren’t yourself when you left. i wish we could’ve watched napoleon dynamite one more time or me steal another one of your hoodies. and btw if you can hear me from heaven i still have your nypd hoodie and i promise i’m taking good care of it. i wish i had more pictures of you to remember i love you so much forever and ever and i’ll never let anyone forget about you

I said goodbye to one of my best friends from Potsdam College this past June... I spoke to him on the phone and sent music..sue told me he heard it all and responded as best he could
Anyone that has these special types of friends knows they are few and far between...love comes in many forms..this was certainly a love/Bromance established over 40 years ago... .A bromance ...before the word was even invented.
And such was the case with Ian Scott McEachren ...or the "other Ian" as we liked to call each other.
But to most everyone else..he was Scott or Scotty
Ian passed away Monday June 6th @ 11:23pm..his body just couldn't fight anymore :(
It's ironic and strange that June 6th is of course immortalized in world history as DDay in WW2... this date is again etched into my personal History ..and anyone elses that knew him.
Ian had heart issues for many years and went in to get a long awaited heart Transplant on Jan 17th.
Everyone was very optimistic...
Unfortunately, he never really got out of the hospital for any significant length of time.
He had some ups and downs in his recovery from the heart operation, but there were many more downs, and lately.. a free fall of worsening health issues which ended Tuesday June 6th
Flashback to Potsdam, NY 1980's...
I can't remember the exact place I met Ian...the 80's erased some of my memory...maybe it was the ZN Frat Parties, the endless kegs, Foozball, Django's, Beer Blasts, Dorm Parties, Morning Sickness party?...who knows..
Ian & I were Roommates on Spring Street in the early 80s..maybe 1982...
I was also Roommates later on with Susan McEachren when we student taught in Syracuse in 1983. ..which as you know, she became Ian's lovely wife.
Spring Street was
a long, green ugly duplex but served its purpose
Ian & I were on one side, with Tom & Frank..messy dudes lol.. some of our fun "Animals" friends lived on the other side (George. Dan, Alan & Chuck if I remember correctly)....people I had met in The Van Housen Dorm , on campus or other places..They were all 1 or 2 years ahead of Ian & I in school
Ian supported me in my musical endeavors and lived with me thru some tough times...
the infamous dislocated shoulder wrestling event,. . the terrible unreal room "robbery" that occurred when we were at Djangos late one nite, only to return to find somebody had broken in and climbed in and stole some really valuable items...
Then, about 10 years ago..the guy that broke in paid me back
We both loved music and listened to it constantly..all different types..
I remember having the state-of-the-art Marantz amp that I still own.., a Pioneer tape deck and an incredibly good AR turntable with massive amounts of Albums
I'm sure we annoyed everyone lol
We stayed in touch with a few gaps thru the 40+ years until this past June
We went to many concerts and events over the years, met each other's families, saw kids born, go to school, college etc.
I'm gonna miss our daily messages, jokes, phone calls and knowing each other is/was there...
Time waits for no one....
Gone way too soon..such a great person, family man and friend
Rest easy my Bro... gonna miss you tons and never forget you
❤️
Ian would want this song played...

Ian our dear friend! We will always cherish the love you shared with us, and the love of your family told to us. We remember the times we shared both the good and sad. We remember the pride and joy seen in the shine of your eyes when you spoke of Susan, your daughters, and of course your four legged child as well. We will see you again in paradise! Love to you always, Rusty and Kellie
