Obituary of William Joseph Wham

William Joseph “Joey” Wham, 66, husband of Sharon Jane Riddle Wham for 37 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Mr. Wham was born in Fountain Inn to the late David Edward “Dave” Wham and Ruby Doris Thompson Wham. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Joey worked many years at Kemet Electronics and later at Burdette Hardware. He enjoyed dove hunting, dirt track racing and working in his yard. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Richard Petty. He built and collected model cars. Joey was proud to be “Pop Joe” to his grandkids. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Chad Wham with wife Brianna; a daughter, Candice Abercrombie with husband Paul; a brother, Eddie Wham; and four grandchildren, Ali Abercrombie, Rylee Abercrombie, Lane Wham and Luke Wham. He was predeceased by a brother, Brian Keith Wham. A Celebration of Joey’s Life will be 11 o’clock Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Chris Bryan. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the receiving of friends. Memorials may be made to Laurens County Cancer Association, 1337 Medical Ridge Road, Clinton, SC 29325.
