Dear Chad: We are neighbors down the street from Patrick. We are heartbroken and send our condolences to you and his family. We had so many wonderful visits with Patrick over the years. We love spending time with him and listening to his stories, wisdom and humor. He was a true friend who we will love and cherish forever. Cute story: I met Patrick in the local post office some years ago, a bit of time before I moved and became his neighbor. I had been standing in line holding a package that I was mailing to Frankfort NY. I heard a man behind me say, excuse me, I don't mean to intrude, but, are you from upstate NY. I turned around and said yes, I am. We chatted for a few minutes. My very first impression of Patrick was, this is one sweet man! We parted and low and behold, some years later, we had just moved in to our new home in Simpsonville. They happen to be having a chili cook off a couple days after we moved in. We knew nobody, but decided to join. As we approached the gathering, I immediately saw Patrick! I walked up to him and said, "You are the man from the post office" and he said, "you are the gal from the post office". I am not sure how many years had passed, but it had to be a few. His kind sweet face was not one to forget!!! What are the chances of that? Our paths were meant to cross. Patrick became one of our most special friends. We enjoyed him so much. We will miss him so much. We are so very sorry.
