Obituary of Barbara Tollison Overton

Barbara Lee Tollison Overton, 75, widow of Bobby Lee Overton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2022. Mrs. Overton was born in Honea Path to the late Norman Clyde Tollison and Florence Elethia Harvey Tollison. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Barbara retired from the Woolworth Distribution Center. Barbara was known for hosting themed Sunday meals and her scratch-made cooking. She had a witty sense of humor and true southern bell charm. Barbara loved spending time with her family, and being “Nana” to her grandchildren. Surviving, are a son, Wesley Overton (Jerry Wigger); a daughter, Dana Patterson (Chad); a brother, Norman Tollison (Nancy); a sister, Dorothy Boyter; and seven grandchildren, Chloe Patterson, Fisher Patterson, Josiah Patterson, Noah Patterson, Jeremiah Patterson, Titus Patterson, and GG Patterson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Tollison and Jimmy Tollison; and a grandson, Grant Patterson. A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be 2 o’clock Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Fountain Inn City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W.
