Obituary of Eileen Tumlin Weathers

Virginia Eileen Tumlin Weathers, 97, widow of Furman Lee “Lil Red” Weathers, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Mrs. Weathers was born in Fountain Inn to the late William Crawford Tumlin and Ellie Mae Smith Tumlin. She was a member of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church. Eileen was a graduate of the Greenville Hospital School of Nursing and retired as an LPN from Hillcrest Hospital. She enjoyed arts & crafts, gardening and flowers. She was a collector of rocks and thimbles. Surviving are two sons, Rev. Ken Weathers, and Gerald Weathers with wife Jamie; a daughter, Sandra Roper with husband David; a sister, Grace Cook with husband Blackwell; eight grandchildren, Amy Mantooth, Cierra Weathers, Grant Weathers, Daniel Weathers, Heber Weathers, R.J. Weathers, Bobby Roper and Brandon Roper; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Weathers; and three brothers, Carl Tumlin, Lloyd Tumlin, and Roy Tumlin. A Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be 1 o’clock Thursday at Hillside Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ken Weathers. Burial will be private.
