The best I’ve felt on a birthday was this passed year. I scooped up Tray and took him trick-or-treating with us so you and Randy could have a date night. Then we all came back to your house for a beer. You had surprise gifts for me and sang happy birthday to me while hugging my neck. Then you put Tray’s “skeleton boner” suit on and danced around like a complete fool, and we were all happy, even you. I want to throw up every time I pass your house now. Everything is still in its usual place..except you. The porch light is on but my friend ain’t home. I sat on your porch Monday with some natty daddies and sobbed. I wasn’t ready Miranda. This shit is so damn hard. You took my best friend from me. “Every little thing, is gonna be alright” plays like a whisper in the back of mind every day. I don’t know what to do now, but until I figure it out, I’m just going to be sad and miss you. I love you so much, my perfectly imperfect little cricket.
