Obituary of Marvin Darnell English

Marvin Darnell English, 76, husband of Marilynn Beckner English for 55 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Mr. English was born in Laurel, MS to the late O.T. English and Jesse Aline Smith English. He retired from Patterson Dental and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of Standing Springs Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Marvin enjoyed fishing, but his main passion was woodworking. He worked on different projects and crafts, and was a collector of Matchbox cars.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and their wives, Mark and Angie English, and Malcolm and Jan English; two sisters and their husbands, Mel and Rev. Paul Swearingen, and Faye and Eston Lloyd; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Standing Springs Baptist Church. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
