Dear Chuck, Larry and family,
I am so sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of her and your dad from growing up at Mauldin First Baptist. She was a true lady. I had seen her through the years at various times, but had really reconnected on FB and at therapy at Group Hab. I always loved when we would run into each other somewhere. She will be missed.

Was lucky to call Elaine a cousin-in-love. We always looked forward to seeing Charlie and Elaine. She was always a sweet giving lady. I have looked forward to seeing her Facebook posts of her Grandkids. She was crazy about them. She'll be missed greatly.

Elaine was a dear friend and co-worker. Four of us did "road trips' together for years. On these trips I would ask her to tell again and again the "love story" of her mother and father. It was beautiful. I treasure her friendship and memories!

We remember Mrs. Elaine and Mr. Charlie sitting in our “old Sanctuary” on Sunday night worship services trying to keep Larry behaving in church ! He stood on the pew between them; he would get very restless and Elaine would give him everything she could find to keep him occupied! When she gave out of toys; Larry starting crawling on the pew; then under the pew and between the seats till Mrs Elaine could bribe him to come back with another toy or snack; OR if Mr. Charlie could grab him by the hand snd pull him toward him to make a trip to the back of the church for a good “talking to” and return to see how long he would last! We were dating on these Sunday nights ; so it was quite “entertaining”! Then later years, My Mother went to the same Beauty Shop as Mrs Elaine (Martha Woods Shop)! We had some sweet conversations there as I came to pick up my Mother! She was always kind; encouraging; and had something GOOD to say about everybody!!! It was always evident how much She loved her Boys and Allison and totally adored her Grandchldren!!! She was a Godly woman I admired! She loved God and Others; she loved her Church ! She was a beautiful Lady, inside and out! Our love and sympathy to you Chuck & Larry; Allison, Thomas, Hannah and Charlie!!
May she Rest In Peace and Rise In Glory! And Paalm 23:4; Amen!
Love y’all , Tommy and Janice Holcombe
