Ray Alton Whitfield, 83, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Mr. Whitfield was born August 26, 1932 in Anderson to the late John and Lily Mae Sniper Whitfield. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and a member of Durban Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving, are three sons, Ray Whitfield (Marilyn), Roger Whitfield (Sandra) and Johnny Whitfield; three daughters, Judy Lawrence, Belinda Hanvey (Ronnie) and Becky Evans; a sister, Betty Ruth Kingsmore and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two wives, Marilyn Jones Whitfield and Margie Ballard Whitfield.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial, with full military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
