Obituary of Christopher Owens

Christopher Heyward Owens, 51, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Chris was born in Greenville, SC, to the late Williams “Heyward” Owens and Shelia Messier on April 26, 1972. He is survived by his fiancé, Virginie Martin, his mother, and his step-mother, Martha “Bobbi” Owens, as well as two older sisters, Diane Rogers (Harvey) and Debbie Hill (Ben). Surviving in addition are his nieces, Heather Rogers (Chad), Haley Rogers-Marshall (Eric), Rebecca Rogers, and Brittany Williams (Nathan), nephew Daniel Hill (Mikala), and his beloved dog, Poly. Throughout his life, Chris was a talented athlete, enjoying baseball, soccer, hiking, skateboarding, and breakdancing. He was also an accomplished snowboarder and avid gardener, a love he shared with his father. Chris was the owner and proprietor of Upstate Hardwood Flooring in the Greenville area. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 11, at 4:00 pm at GracePoint Church in Simpsonville. A visitation will be immediately following the service.
