Obituary of Louis Mahaffey, Jr.

Louis W. Mahaffey, Jr., 75, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Mr. Mahaffey was born in Greenville to the late Louis Willard Mahaffey, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Jones Mahaffey. He was employed with Rebath and was a member of Northside Church. Louis was a former member of IPTAY and also Masonic Lodge #31. He was a people person, a natural salesman, and a prolific jokester. Louis was a huge fan of the Clemson Tigers, the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR – particularly Dale Earnhardt. He could often be found dining at Carolina Fine Foods, sharing stories and laughs with friends and family. Surviving are two sons, L.W. “Tripp” Mahaffey III, and Matt Mahaffey with wife Andrea; four daughters, Lynn Taylor with husband Al, Lori Garrison with husband Brad, Melissa Bikas, and Mandy Heisey with husband Richard; eight grandchildren, Kirstie Goolsby with husband Roger, Beklyn Gillespie with husband Jessy, T.J. Garrison, Justin Heisey with wife Katie, Cali Heisey, Micah Heisey, Nolan Bikas, and Thomas Bikas; and four great-grandchildren, Sidney Goolsby, Hank Gillespie, Avery Gillespie, and Coleson Heisey. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lalena Taylor. A Celebration of Louis’ Life will be 11 o’clock Saturday at Northside Church in Laurens.
