Obituary of Teresa Smith

Teresa Raines Smith, 71, widow of Malcolm Daniel Smith, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Mrs. Smith was born in Greenville to the late Odis Columbus Raines, Jr. and Kathryn Jesse Payne Raines. She was a member of Hickory Tavern Church of God, where she served in the nursery for many years. Teresa loved God, her family, and kids in general. She enjoyed fishing, crabbing, traveling, and trips to the beach; but her greatest joy came in being “Nana” to everyone who knew her. She was a collector of teapots, windchimes, and State spoons. Surviving are a son, Rev. Danny Smith with wife Brandy; a daughter, Kim Weathers with husband Stacy; two sisters, Sandra Williams, and Kathy Wilkerson with husband Rev. Terry; three grandchildren, Amber Hedden, Tanner Weathers, and Kacey Weathers; and three great-grandchildren, Allison, Carson and Landon. Visitation will be between 5 – 7 o’clock Wednesday at the Hickory Tavern Church of God. A Celebration of Teresa’s Life will be 1 o’clock Thursday at Hickory Tavern Church of God. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Hickory Tavern Church of God, 18069 Hwy 101 S, Gray Court, SC 29645.
