Obituary of Julie Cook
Esther Juliette “Julie” Phillips Cook, 81, widow of Roland Lee Cook, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Mrs. Cook was born in Walterboro, SC to the late Lawrence McDonald “Larry” Phillips and Doris Louise Keaton Phillips. She was a member of Refuge Worship & Healing Center. She enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors. Julie loved to cook and was a collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Surviving are two sons, Donnie Barry and Tom Barry; a daughter, Brenda Spurlin; two brothers and their wives, Calvin and Yvonne Phillips, and Ricky and Sun Phillips; a sister, Theresa Gilardo; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sons, Michael Barry, Lucky Barry, Jimmy Barry and Richard Barry; a brother, Lawrence Phillips; and a sister, Ann Duggins.
A Celebration of Julie’s Life will be 11 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service – Woodruff Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
