Obituary of Janie Neves Brashier

Janie Eunice Neves Brashier, 95, widow of Frank G. Brashier, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023. She was the daughter of the late A.O. and Aileen Terry Neves. 

Mrs. Brashier grew up in the Fairview Community of Fountain Inn. She graduated from Fork Shoals High School and Draughon’s Business College. She was member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and the Covenant Sunday School Class. She retired from Union Carbide. Mrs. Brashier and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.                                                                              

She is survived by her granddaughter, Rene’ Busby (Michael); her great-grandson Preston Gilbert (Maddie), two step great-grandsons Michael Jr and Mitchel Busby; her great-great grandson, Sawyer Gilbert; four step great-great grandchildren Blake, Alyssa, Travis and Rachel Busby; and a special niece Amelia Masters.  She was predeceased by her husband, Frank G. Brashier; a daughter Phyllis B. Woods, her son in law Kay Woods; her brothers Walt, Frank and Jim Neves; and her sister Edna N. Brown.  

Visitation will be Thursday, October 26 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Service.                        

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Fairview Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow the service at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
