Obituary of Lillie Rose Knappen
Lillie Rose Bridges Knappen, 86, widow of William Earl “Bill” Knappen, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Mrs. Knappen was born in Simpsonville to the late Henry Earl Bridges, Sr. and Zelma Evangeline Simpson Bridges. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She worked in food service at Simpsonville Elementary School for several years. Lillie Rose enjoyed baking, vegetable and flower gardening, traveling, camping, needlework, embroidery, and watching her TV shows. She was a collector of salt & pepper shakers, glassware and dishes.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Ince with husband Rev. Greg, and Wanda Painter with husband Larry; two brothers, Randolph Bridges, and Jerry Bridges with wife Louann; two sisters, Brenda Harrison and Judy Williamson; seven grandchildren, Shawn Schuler with wife Nina, Nicole Ince, Kristen Noel with husband Jamie, Samuel Ince, Natasha Painter, Nikolas Painter, and Angela Eubanks; and three great-granddaughters, Joanna, Ellie, and Mia. She was predeceased by her first husband, Hugh Watson Franklin; two brothers, Henry Earl Bridges, Jr. and Donald Bridges; a sister, Betty Davis; and a granddaughter, Katherine Schuler.
A Celebration of Lillie Rose’s Life will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park mausoleum.
