Obituary of Phyllis Sanders

Phyllis Obelia Mahaffey Sanders, 84, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2023.

Ms. Sanders was born in Spartanburg to the late Dennis Horace Mahaffey and Eva Obelia Hamby Mahaffey.  She was a member of Cashville Church of God of Prohecy.  Phyllis retired from Greenville General Hospital.  She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo and solving puzzle books.

Surviving are six sons, Randy Hamby, Dennis Stewart, David Lancaster, Danny Croft, Terry Hamby, and Shawn Sanders with wife Lynn; two daughters, Vicki Urban and Julie Landrith with husband Steve; a sister, Deloris Stevens; seven grandchildren, Kada Roman, Sheguee Roman with wife Kristin, Donald Stone with wife Autumn, Donnie Stone, Amber Rose Wardlaw, Stevie Sanders and Curtis Sanders; and five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Layla, Caison, Chevy and Aiden.  She was predeceased by four brothers, Curtis Hamby, Bob Mahaffey , Larry Mahaffey, and Steve Mahaffey; and three sisters, Kay Leonard, Georgia Greene, and Brenda Waddell.

A Celebration of Phyllis’ Life will be 1 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park.
