Obituary of Margaret "Dee" Stutzman

Please share a memory of Margaret "Dee" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Margaret “Dee” Stutzman, 68,  passed away on February 6th at 7:40pm after a brief and unexpected illness. She was surrounded by her two daughters and her husband. Dee was a daughter, a sister, a caring mother, a loving wife, an affectionate Nana, and a wonderful Nanny. She spent many years caring for children within her community and she loved each and every one of them as her own. She was their Mrs. Dee and they were her sweet little babies.

Dee was born in Virginia and then lived in Maryland with her parents Kenneth and Connie Callaway, and her three brothers Joey, Jeff, and Craig. She moved to Virginia Beach for several years and then to South Carolina in 1995. Dee received her degree in Early Childhood Education and spent many years working as the Director of a childcare center. In 2021 her and Curtis retired to Florida.

Dee enjoyed many things in life but mostly she enjoyed home improvement projects and spending time camping in her “tiny home” with her beloved husband Curtis and her puppies. She loved to spend time with her family and to travel. Her favorite place to travel to was Culebra PR.

Dee leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend, Curtis; her two daughters Tami Miller (Shawn) and Katy Jones (Matt); her six grandchildren Madilynn, Kaleb (Maria), Gavin, Zakary Masen, Emmy, and Avery; a great grandchild CJ; her brothers Joey (Fanny), Jeff (Cindy); several nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as many lifelong friends who she considered her family. Preceding her in death were her father Kenneth, mother Connie, and her brother Craig.

A celebration of life will be held March 9th at 3PM at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Service.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to an organization of your choice, in her honor.
