Obituary of Robert Frank Edwards

Robert Frank Edwards, 87, husband of Phyllis Ann McIntosh Edwards for 55 years, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Mr. Edwards was born in Utica, NY to the late Frank Barton Edwards and Aniela Agatha Penc Edwards. He retired from Meislin’s Restaurant Supply and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Korea. Robert was a member and Past Master of the Oriskany Masonic Lodge #799 in Oriskany, NY, a member of American Legion Post #1113 in Whitesboro, NY, a member and Past Patron of the Oriskany-Westmoreland Eastern Star in Westmoreland, NY, and a member of the Ziyara Shriners in Utica, NY. After retirement, Robert dedicated himself to serving as a volunteer driver for the Shriner’s Hospital, spending as much as 3-4 days a week shuttling children and family to the hospital for their treatments.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Tegid Edwards and wife Mary Ann of Simpsonville, SC ; a daughter, Terri Edwards of Scottsdale, AZ; a sister, Barbara Paparella and husband Ed of Clinton, NY; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda Edwards.

Funeral services, with Military Honors, will be held Friday at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
