Obituary of Betty Brown

Betty Irene Hix Brown, 91, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Ms. Brown was born in Commerce, GA to the late Bertron Isaac “Bert” Hix and Edna Lamar Wade Hix.  She was a member of Selma Baptist Church and the WMU.  Betty retired from Taylor Investment Company.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.  A simple yet endeared luxury for Betty was getting her hair done.

Surviving are two sons, Roger Brown and Coy Brown with wife Debbie; a sister, Norma Kelley; three grandchildren, Kaci Rowe with husband Dan, Layna Weldon, and Chris Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Tristan, Taylor and Reagan.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Bob Hix and Harold Hix; and a sister, Jo Henson.

A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be 2 o’clock Tuesday at Selma Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
