Obituary of Carolyn Bridges

Carolyn Josephine Davis Bridges, 81, wife of Clifford Alving Bridges for 64 wonderful years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

 

Mrs. Bridges was born in Greenville to the late Jewelry “Dude” Davis and Sarah Lee Thomas Davis.  She was a member of Simpsonville Church of God and served as a dedicated Sunday School teacher at various churches.  She was an active member of Gideons International Auxiliary since 1988.  Carolyn served many years in the Georgia State Office of the Church of God.  She enjoyed various activities throughout her life, including Diamond Art, cross-stitch, crochet, ceramics, sewing, camping and riding trikes with Cliff.  Carolyn was infamous for her fruitcake cookies, coconut balls, peanut-butter balls and other baked goods.

 

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Craig Bridges with wife Robin; a brother, Donnie Davis with wife Treva; two sisters, Peggy Holder, and Miriam Hormel with husband Tim; four grandchildren, Nikki Wagner with husband Jason, Jessica Murphy with husband Jonathan, Heather Cole with husband Ryan, and Brittany Bridges; and five great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Avery, Nate, Isaac and Lila.  She was predeceased by a son, Chris Bridges; two brothers, Clyde “Buck” Davis and Joey Davis; and a sister, Betty McCullom.

 

Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Thursday at Simpsonville Church of God.

 

A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be 10:30 am Friday at Simpsonville Church of God.  Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Graceland East Memorial Park.
