Obituary of Jackie Osborne

Jackie Best Osborne, 70, wife of Melvin Wayne Osborne for 46 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Mrs. Osborne was born in Whiteville, NC to the late Luther Lenwood Best and Rosie Lee Jones Best.  Jackie was a 1971 graduate of Hillcrest High School.  She was a golf enthusiast and worked at Fox Run Country Club for many years.  Jackie enjoyed family-time by the pool.  She was always up for a good “adventure at the lake with Kay”.  Jackie had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh.  She was an animal lover at heart; however, her greatest love was being “Granny” to her grandchildren. 

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Lindsey Hendrick with husband Doug, and Chesney Thompson with husband Michael; a brother, Barney Best with wife Mary Lynn; a sister-in-law, Jenny Sherbert with husband Johnny; her father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Louise Osborne; and three grandchildren, Carley Thompson, Jack Hendrick and Emmy Hendrick.  She was predeceased by her twin-brother, Jimmy Best.

The family will receive friends between 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
