Obituary of Norma Stephens

Please share a memory of Norma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Norma Marjorie Lewis Stephens, 90, widow of Carl Edward Stephens, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Mrs. Stephens was born in Milan, IN to the late Arthur Earl Lewis and Rose Martha Gerboth Lewis.  She was a member of First Baptist Simpsonville.  Norma retired from the Greenville County School District.  She was a devoted Grandmother.  She was a pianist and enjoyed easy-listening music.  Norma loved to quilt; consequently, she used to make Barbie Doll clothing that she sold to family and friends.  Known as the “flower lady”, Norma took great pride in her floral gardens – constantly sharing flowers with friends and church members.  She was a dedicated steward of family photos throughout her years, amassing many photo albums.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Craig and Susie Stephens, and Mark and Tammy Stephens; a daughter, Ann Tucker with husband Randy; nine grandchildren, Nathan Brashier, Blake Stephens, Josh Tucker, Amanda Stephens, Garrison Stephens, Justin Tucker, Zachary Stephens, Casey Nelson with husband Jarrod, and Madison McCarter with husband Wesley; and four great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Luke, Ayler and Eva Grace.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Jim Lewis and Ed Lewis.

A Celebration of Norma’s Life will be at 10 o’clock Wednesday in the Chapel of First Baptist Simpsonville, officiated by Rev. Randy Kirby.  The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service.  Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Simpsonville, 3 Hedge Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
