Obituary of Freda Owings

Freda Kay Owings, 59, wife of Billy D. Owings, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.  Freda was the daughter of the late Johnnie Lee and Martha Hayes Huckabee. Freda was a very special and unique individual who loved her family, enjoyed riding in the mountains, working in the yard, and laying out in the sun. Her passion was shopping and interior decorating.

In addition to her husband, Billy, Freda is survived by two sons, Travis Owings and wife Anna; and Shaun Huckabee; a daughter, Amanda Branyon and husband Tim; two grandchildren whom were very special to her, Aleiah Branyon and Addalyn Wilson; two brothers, Randy Huckabee and wife Tammy; and Johnnie Huckabee, Jr. and wife Michelle; a sister, Melissa Faye Knight and husband Sam; and several nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Anyone who would like to view Mrs. Freda or pay their respects, may come out to Fletcher Funeral Service in Woodruff on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 and Wednesday, January 8, 2025 after 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be at Laurens Church of God on Thursday, January 9, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM. Freda will be buried at Westview Memorial Park after the service.
