Obituary of Randy Thackston

Jerry Randall “Randy” Thackston, 69, husband of Catherine Denise Thackston for 47 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Mr. Thackston was born in Fountain Inn to the late Jessie James Thackston and Martha Lois Vaughn Thackston.  Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting turkey and deer, and talking about fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed nature watching, and would name the frequent animals that visited the yard.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are, a son, Josh Thackston; a daughter, Carrie Ann Thackston; a sister, Ann Pearson; and a brother, Danny Thackston, many brother’s and sister’s in law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William “Billy” Thackston; and a sister, Susie Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock Wednesday at Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Robert Cato. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
