Obituary of Ray Hughes

Ray Hughes passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2017.

He was born in Huntington, West VA, and had lived in Mauldin since 1975 with his wife, Spence whom he married in 1970.

Besides his wife, Ray is survived by his children, Ross Hughes and wife, Melissa, and Genie Hughes Matt. He was proud of his grandchildren Neely and Jesse Matt and Hampton and Holden Hughes. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, and two sisters living in Nashville, many nephews and nieces and his sweet, precious rescue dog, Darby Ann.

A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 739 N. Main St, Mauldin, SC 29662. Visitation with the family will be 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM in the church’s Greeting Room.
