Obituary of Robert "Bud" Parker, Jr.

Robert Shirley “Bud” Parker Jr., 84, husband of Mary Jo Woodall Parker, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2018.

Mr. Parker was born in Greenville to the late Robert Shirley Parker Sr. and Gladys Lucile Kimbrell Parker.  He retired from NCR (National Cash Register), Inc. and was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church.  He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army.   Bud enjoyed gardening, woodworking, Sudoku puzzles and creating stained glass. 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert Parker III and wife Paige; a daughter, Dawn Bates and husband Sam; a brother, Dean Parker and wife Louise; four sisters and their husbands, Nancy and Morris Templeton, Anne and Bobby Bayne, Alice and Alvin Whitaker, and Frances and Charles Painter; four grandchildren, Ellen Graft and husband Chris, Parker Bates, Will Parker and Jordan Bates.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Five Forks Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Howard Foster.  Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
