Obituary of Gary Woodrow Grubbs, Sr.

Gary Woodrow Grubbs, Sr., 88, of Simpsonville, passed away on Friday March 9, 2018. Born in Columbia, SC on September 2, 1929, he was the son of the late G. W. and Callie Grubbs. Mr. Grubbs served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church, and spent much of his time volunteering at Hillcrest Hospital.

Gary is survived by his son, Gary W. Grubbs, Jr.; daughter, Debra Kennerly; sister, Orpah Brown; as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The memorial service for Mr. Grubbs will be held at 1 o’clock on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the chapel at Fletcher Funeral Service, with Rev. Eddie Howard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
