Obituary of Bobby Gene Rice
Bobby Gene Rice, 85, of Fountain Inn, found peace on April 16, 2018, as he passed away at his home following an extended illness. Born in Fountain Inn on January 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Adger H.B and Mary Cecil Rice, as well as the husband of Frances Humphries Rice. Bobby was a dedicated member of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church. He loved to work, and had a passion for farming, especially raising cattle. He was a Hall of Fame member of the American Angus Association.
In addition to his wife, Bobby is survived by his daughters, Cindy Rice Blake (Doug) and Cecilia Rice Groce (Bryan); grandchildren, Joshua Blake (Jessica), Savannah Griffin (Allan), Jeremy Rice Blake (Meagan), and Austin Groce; great-grandchildren, Joey Blake and John McQuade Blake; as well as his beloved Golden Retriever, Major.
The funeral service for Mr. Rice will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, April 18th at Fountain Inn First Baptist Church, with Rev. Condy Richardson and Chaplain John Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Cannon Memorial Park.
