Obituary of Jewel Jones Gilstrap

Jewel Jones Gilstrap, 96, widow of Henry Allen Gilstrap Sr., went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2018.

Mrs. Gilstrap was born in Greenville to the late Walter Hobart Jones Sr. and Azalea Beatrice King Jones.  She retired from Cryovac and was a lifetime member of Second Baptist Church of Greenville. 

Surviving are a son, Allen Gilstrap and wife Jean; two daughters, Nancy Painter and husband Roy, and Teresa Gilstrap; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Ray Jones, Walter Jones Jr., and Kenneth Jones; and a sister, Doris Jones.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, followed by burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
