I’ll always remember the times carpooling to school with David and Mr. Wheeler, and his steadfast comforting kindness. Wishing and praying for peace for y’all during all of this. Hold every memory close, and please do not hesitate to reach out for support from any of the Brabham’s. We’re only a few doors down or a phone call away.
Praying for y’all.

Dear Wheeler Family,
We got to know Bill in the summer 1981 in Saugerties, he was a student at Piedmont Bible College at that time and he brought home a young lady that he married shortly after we met him. He was such a sweet and thoughtful young man. Lost track of him after Butch and Marlene moved from the area. Glad to hear how he faithfully served his Lord and stood tall for his Savior. Isn't it wonderful that the Lord called him home without being ill for a long time. The Lord was mighty proud of him and I am sure he said well done my faithful servant. Will be praying for the family as you travel down this road. May the Lord help you to heal and become stronger in your faith through this.

I didn't know Bill well, but the few interactions we had were a blessing to me. I work at Irving Bible Church on the worship team in Irving, TX. Bill would come in during our rehearsals and sit on the front row and just watch. At first we wondered, who is this gentlemen that always comes during rehearsal. We learned that he was in Irving on business and loved to just sit and listen to our rehearsal... I finally introduced myself and from then on Bill was a fixture. He was always so kind! My heart breaks for your family. Please know that we are praying that the peace of Christ will pour over your family during this very difficult time.

I had the honor of working with Bill over a period of several years. He was always patient, always kind and one of the hardest working men with whom I ever had the opportunity to work. I will always remember him as a quiet, gentle man willing to do whatever he could to lighten someone else's burden. I am honored to have been able to call Bill my co-worker, but more importantly, my friend. "His Lord said unto him, 'Well done thou good and faithful servant'" Matthew 25:23

I worked with Bill at Heartland Hospice several years ago. I had an interest in psychology but lacked direction in how to use it. Bill, in looking back, was instrumental in my becoming a counselor. Our offices were next to each other, and I (probably) bugged him asking him a ton of questions about therapy; of course, Bill was always patient. I think I had the idea that therapists had to be all-knowing and had to have solved all their own problems. Bill told me that that was quite incorrect, that people having problems was frequently what made them good counselors. He helped me feel like I could do it, I could help people, and I didn't have to be perfect to do it. I credit him as one of the people that helped me find my path in service. He was a good, funny, gentle soul. My heart goes out to all that love him but I know he is greeted warmly in heaven.

Leigh Ann, this is Nancy Brown from First Baptist Church Atlanta. I am so sorry to hear about Bill. He told me after church on Sunday he was going home and now he is at peace with the Lord. He may have told you Rich has been sick and we learned yesterday that he has Parkinson's and Bill never go to hear about Rich because he had not been to church the last two weeks. I have let everyone that new Bill know that he passed yesterday and they are all so sad for you and your family. God be with you and your family and know that all of us who knew Bill are praying for you this week and we are so sorry. What a precious Man of God who loved you so much and was so looking forward to your daughter's first child.
Love In Christ to You, Your Children and Grand Children and all Bill"s Family

Rick and I were friends with the Wheeler family around 1977 into the 1980s. We were newlyweds a long way from our home and went to Church with them in Saugerties and they became our family. Bill was our age. We are greatly saddened to hear of his passing.
We are so sorry for your loss and are praying for your family.
