Obituary of Bobbie Sue Stroud

Bobbie Sue Tumblin Stroud passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018. A lifelong resident of Simpsonville, she was born on August 3, 1929 to the late Virgil Franklin and Madge Knight Tumblin. She was the widow of the late Marion Thomas Stroud. Bobbie spent her career as a bookkeeper for Greenville Mechanical. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she actively served in volunteer activities including Director of the GA’s and Coordinator of the nursery ministry.

Bobbie is survived by her son, Gary Stroud; a daughter, Jan Funderburk and her husband Michael; a sister, Donna Bootle; grandchildren, Brent Funderburk, Grant Funderburk, and Patrick Stroud; her lifelong best friend, Martha Ellis; as well as numerous other family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, June Harvard and Ginny Moore; and a grandson, Matthew Stroud.

The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Unity Baptist Church, with The Rev. Larry Ledford officiating. A time of visitation with the family will follow the service.
