Obituary of Bobby Loran "Bob" Balcombe, Sr.

Bobby Loran “Bob” Balcombe, Sr., 86, of Fountain Inn, passed away on Thursday January 10, 2019. A lifelong resident of Fountain Inn, he was the son of the late Pratt Balcombe and Grace Peden Balcombe, and the husband of Mary Louise Payne Balcombe for over 65 years. He was a member of Green Pond United Methodist Church.

Bob loved gospel music and was an excellent bass singer. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and baseball. He was described by his wife as a humble, Christian gentleman, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter, Wanda B. Bailey; sons, Bobby L. Balcombe (Sharon) and Rodney E. Balcombe (Phyllis); grandchildren, Holly B. Pee (Jason), Ashley Bailey, Heather Coleman, Ashley Bolton (Josh), Zack Balcombe, and Colby Balcombe; and great-grandchildren, Madison Pee, Carson Pee, and Jaden Coleman; and Don Bailey, the father of Holly and Ashley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Balcombe; and sister, Frances Balcombe. 

The family would also like to extend special thanks to Bob’s caregiver, Chamar, and all the staff at Kindred Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday January 13^th at Green Pond United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Keely and Rev. Steve Keck officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:45pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
