Obituary of Vera Armstrong
Vera McLinda Meeks Armstrong, widow of William Eugene “Buddy” Armstrong, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2019.
Mrs. Armstrong was born in Fountain Inn to the late JohnThomas Meeks and Nannie Mae Brown Meeks. She retired from Kemet Electronics and was an alumnus of Limestone College. Vera enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Surviving are two sons, Steve Armstrong and wife Kathy, and Mike Armstrong; a daughter, Susan Miyares; a sister, Rose Burden; four grandchildren, Jason Davis and wife Stacie, Richard Miyares and wife Kate, Daniel Miyares and wife Lisa, and Hillary Armstong; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Davis; a granddaughter, Shaneen Fulp; a brother, James Meeks; and three sisters, Cornelia Corrithers, Sara Alverson, and Nell Leathers.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
