Obituary of Larry Donald Griswell

Larry Donald Griswell, 76, husband of Helen Holcombe Griswell for 42 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

 

Mr. Griswell was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL to the late Richard Ray Griswell and Evie Mae Snider Griswell.  He was a member of Fountain Inn Church of God and was a huge UGA Bulldog fan.  Larry enjoyed fishing and building hot-rods.  He was an avid studier of genealogy and military history.

 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Jody Griswell, Larry Ray Griswell, and Brian Griswell and wife Susan; two daughters, Donna Wilson and husband Patrick, and Diane Miller; a brother, Dennis Griswell and wife Janet; a sister, Margaret Caldwell; seven grandchildren, Brooks Griswell and wife Ashley, Allison Griswell, L.R. “Griz” Griswell II, Katelyn Griswell, Taylor Griswell, Savannah Griswell, and Jordan Griswell; four great-grandchildren; and his beloved dogs, Molly and Rocky.

 

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Jamie Hughes.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

 

Flowers accepted, or memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
