Obituary of Ronald Lewis Cannady

Ronald Lewis “Ron” Cannady, 72, husband of Gail Long Cannady, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

Mr. Cannady was born in Greenville to the late Clarence Lewis Cannady and Margaret Delia Jennings Cannady.  He retired from Windstream and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He was a member of the American Legion and formerly worked at Daytona Speedway.  Ron enjoyed racing and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Ronnie Cannady and wife Heather; three daughters, Kandi Carter and husband Colin, Terri Cannady and fiancé David Ramsey, and Darla McEntyre and husband Stan; a brother, Richard Cannady and wife Wanda; eight grandchildren, Ashley Slaton, Jeremy Young and wife April, Josh Young and wife Makayla, Caleb Cannady and wife Megan, Brittney Mosley and husband Daniel, Hunter McCarson and fiancé Kelsey Shelton, Marah Hardie and husband Sam, and Andrew McEntyre; and six great-grandchildren, Dawson Mosley, Ariel Slaton, Jazmyn Slaton, Callie Young, Aalivia Young and Benjamin Young.  He was predeceased by a sister, Vicki Cannady Owings; and a great-grandson, Elijah Lewis Young.

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be 4 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service Friday.
