Harold Brunson Coley, 77, husband of Carrie Watson Coley for 55 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
Mr. Coley was born in Woodruff to the late Kenneth Reginald Coley Sr. and Mittie Jane Jennings Coley. He retired from Taffer Textiles and was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. Harold was a long-time dirt track racer and won many races as #17 at several tracks. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He collected pocket knives and was known as a jokester.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Annette Chappell and husband Roger; three sisters, Virl Ritchie, Betty Morgan, and Freddie Thackston; two grandsons, Dylan Chappell Sr. and wife Caitlyn, and Ruger Chappell; and two great-grandsons, Ethan Chappell and Dylan Chappell Jr. He was predeceased by a brother, K.R. Coley Jr.; and three sisters, Margaret Brown, Carrie Hudson, and Frances Shelton.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Carroll Caldwell. Burial will follow in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
