Sara Emily Newton James, 86, widow of John Thomas “Tom” James, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
Mrs. James was born to the late John Newton and Lola Kelley James. She retired from Kemet Electronics and was a member of Mauldin Methodist Church. She loved reading the bible, gospel music, working in the yard, and helping people. Sara enjoyed her pets and birds.
Surviving are a son, Tommy James and wife Sherri; four grandchildren, Stephanie Snipes and husband Mitch, Ryan James (Brittany), Sonya James (Ben), and Austin James; and five great-grandchildren, Carson, Amelia, Lydia, Madison and Autumn. She was predeceased by five brothers, Claude Newton, Morris Newton, Gene Newton, John Harold Newton, and Naman Newton; and two sisters, Mildred Williamson and Lois White.
Memorials may be made to Eptworth Children’s Home 2900 Millwood Avenue Columbia, SC 29205.
