Obituary of Betty Jean Blakely

Betty Higgins Blakely, 70, widow of Charles Blakely, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 28th, 2020. Betty was born in Burnsville, NC to the late Mack Ray Higgins and Bergy Lou Austin Higgins. She enjoyed cooking and flower gardening, and loved spending time with her grandson, Bryce. Surviving is a son, Charles “Chris” Blakely and wife Amanda; step-son, Tony Blakely; brother, Ray Higgins and his wife; two sisters, Nancy Ayers and Elizabeth McIntosh; grandson, Bryce Blakely; step-granddaughter, Kayla Perkins and step-grandson, Trey Perkins; two sisters in-law, Shirley Fisher with husband Jim, and Velma Thompson; and a brother in-law, Gus Blakely. A graveside service will be held 3pm Tuesday at Dolly Cooper Veterans cemetery.
